Ladies, and gentlemen, April welcomes us like a warm hooker on a cold day, and kicks off with a day of foolishness, however, when it comes to this month’s featured artist, there is no foolin’ around. What we have for you this month are a group of guys that are real deal rock n rollers. They hail from Los Angeles, California, and are composed of members from bands such as Qui, The Hangmen, The Starvations, or even Guzzard and Helmet, formerly, Thee L.A. Gentlemen; of course I am talking of none other than……

BARRIO TIGER

Barrio Tiger are true blue, tattooed, American rock n roll institution! The band is made up of Calixto Hernandez, Jimmy James, Gregg Coddington, Shane Gibbons, and Keith "The Star Of" Davidson. If you know anything about the who’s who of the LA rock n roll scene, then you might recognize all or at least most of those names. You could say Barrio Tiger is something of a hybrid made up of the best of the best rockers Los Angeles has to offer. They recently finished recording their e.p., "Laugh Now, Cry Later", which they recorded with Manny Nieto.

These boys deliver the goods with authority whether they’re on stage or just blasting thru your speakers! If you’ve had the privilege of seeing them tear up a stage in person, then you know what I’m talking about. They are reminiscent of the days of the Dead Boys, and the New York Dolls, just so you have an idea of what you are in for when you go to their live shows. When Calixto and Jimmy break out into their dueling solos, it’s like watching a never ending epic guitar battle!!!

Currently, they’re backed by Rankoutsider Records, and No Future Entertainment. Aside from recording their e.p. they’re booking and playing shows constantly and lighting stages on fire all over the damned place. So get off your asses and go get your faces rocked off by this powerhouse high level threat to your senses. You will literally be rocked right out of your converse sneakers!....so wear clean socks. *wink*
